Report: Texans RB Foster's 'severe' groin injury requires surgery

Arian Foster reportedly suffered a groin injury during practice on Monday, a major blow to the the Houston Texans' backfield.

ESPN 97.5 Houston's Jayson Braddock reported Tuesday that the injury is "serious" and could require surgery.

Houston Chronicle reporter John McClain later tweeted that Foster's "severe" injury will require surgery, but that the four-time Pro Bowl RB should still be able to return at some point in the 2015 season.

Foster has struggled to stay healthy the past few years. He returned from a back injury last season and rushed for 1,246 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games.
