Report: Spurs interested in veteran Caron Butler

Published Jun. 28, 2015 8:29 p.m. ET

Could the San Antonio Spurs be adding a small forward this offseason?

According to RealGM, they'll likely be going after Caron Butler.

Butler is currently with the Milwaukee Bucks after being traded from the Detroit Pistons after the season. The Bucks are expected to release him unless an unexpectant deal comes through at the last minutes before his guarantee date of June 30.

But it appears they have some competition. According to the report, the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks are also interested in the 35-year-old veteran.

Butler has played for eight different teams over his 13-year career. Last season, he averaged 5.9 points in 78 games while shooting 37.9 behind the arc.

Is this a good move for the already "old" Spurs? If Coach Pop says so, I'm on board.
