Report: Oklahoma coach Bobby Jack Wright to retire

It looks like there will be a change on the Oklahoma football team's defensive staff.

Longtime coach Bobby Jack Wright has decided to retire, according to Jason Kersey of The Oklahoman.

The Oklahoman went on to say Wright could move into an administrative role within the athletic department at OU.

In addition to coaching at Oklahoma since 1999, Wright has also coached at Texas and at North Texas as well as Texas A&I. He has been involved in coaching since the early 1970s.

Wright coached cornerbacks at OU last season and has been a recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma, defensive ends coach, assistant defensive coordinator, assistant head coach and special teams coach.

Already this offseason, coach Bob Stoops has fired offensive coordinators Jay Norvell and Josh Heupel. Monday, Stoops and the program announced the hiring of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Lincoln Riley who came to the Sooners after spending the last four seasons at East Carolina.
