Report: OHL hockey player still missing after possibly being cut
An Ontario Hockey League player has gone missing for over a week now after his girlfriend alleges that he had been cut, according to a report.
Terry Trafford, who played for the Saginaw Spirit, has not been seen since March 3, and girlfriend Skye Cieszlak believes he went missing after his club released him.
"He had gotten into trouble for partying on a road trip and they were sending him home for good," Cieszlak told Mlive.com. "He was devastated."
She added that she had not heard from Trafford, 20, since a series of text messages on March 2, one that particularly concerned her.
"He texted me and told me his life was over and that he didn't want to do it anymore," Cieszlak told Mlive.com.
The Spirit have made no mention of Trafford, who has been with the club for four seasons, no longer being with the team. This statement on their website said as much:
"On behalf of the Saginaw Spirit I want to start by saying the disappearance of Terry Trafford is a very difficult situation, and that we, along with the Ontario Hockey League, have been working diligently and doing all that is possible to assist in the process of locating Terry.
Our primary concern remains to assist the professionals that are diligently working to locate Terry and all activities have been focused on that support for them."
Trafford is 5-foot-11, 190 pounds and drives a 1995 green Chevy Sierra truck. A missing persons report was filed in Toronto, but according to the site, Michigan State Police have taken over the search.
Meanwhile, Cieszlak is conducting a personal search for Trafford.
"We have spots that him and I always go together," she said. "I know places to look and places we'd sneak off to.
"To me, he was the most caring and loving person that I've ever been around. It's been the worst week of my entire life."
