Report: Johnson wants trade from Texans, four teams interested

Earlier, Andre Johnson said he didn't know if he would be suiting up for the Houston Texans on Week 1, now the star wide receiver is reportedly asking for trade.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Johnson said he wants to play for another team and four NFL clubs have expressed interest in trading for the 33-year-old veteran.

The Texans, however, are still resisting moving their star receiver.

Johnson missed Texans OTAs and mandatory minicamp this offseason, but was reportedly interested in returning for training camp after speaking with new head coach Bill O'Brien, however a dispute with the team over $1 million has created a new rift.

Johnson was due a $1 million bonus on Week 1 for attending offseason workouts, and despite missing the early portion; he had hoped by working out harder during the latter portion of the offseason, he could earn back the bonus.

The Texans reportedly declined, furthering the divide between the two parties, resulting in the trade request. Johnson believed he deserved some goodwill for restructuring his contract in each of the past three years to help the team.

Johnson's issues with the Texans stemmed from the team's offseason moves by not addressing the need for a top-flight quarterback. The veteran, who cited he is tired of losing, is looking to win now, and doesn't want to be part of a rebuild, despite team officials stating they are expecting to return to contention this season.
