Good news for for the Columbus Blue Jackets as they look forward to their first season in the Eastern Conference: their 2012 first-round draft pick is back to full health and ready to head to Ohio to continue his hockey development.

CBJ president of hockey operations John Davidson told the team's website Tuesday that Ryan Murray, a 19-year-old defenseman from Saskatchewan, is back to 100 percent roughly six months after major shoulder surgery.
"He's doing very well," Davidson told BlueJackets.com. "By the time September comes around, he's going to be a well-conditioned young man."
Murray was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 draft but the shoulder injury suffered in November while he played in the WHL halted his development for a club that would end up finishing the NHL season strong.
What role, if any, he can earn for the 2013-14 campaign remains to be seen, but Murray is expected to be in Columbus for the CBJ's development camp next month and be able to take part in training camp in September.
