Report: C.J. Mosley's suspension marijuana-related

BY foxsports • November 2, 2014

The two-game suspension the Detroit Lions gave to defensive tackle C.J. Mosley last week was the result of a marijuana-related incident during the team's trip to London, England, according to a report by ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Mosley was caught with marijuana after a smoke alarm in his hotel room was disabled, Mortensen reported.

Mosley and the NFL Players Association have filed a grievance against the team's suspension because a marijuana violation falls under the NFL's substance-abuse policy and, therefore, should have been handled by the league, Mortensen added.

Mosley was suspended and sent home from London in advance of last Sunday's game for what the team announced as "conduct detrimental to the team."

After a week off, the Lions play again next Sunday at home against Miami.
