Report: Bryant has surgery on injured foot, ankle

Published Jan. 6, 2016 5:21 p.m. ET

Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant had surgery on his injured foot and ankle, a source confirmed to The Dallas Morning News.

The surgery took place on Wednesday in New York.

The newspapers reports that the procedures will not prevent Bryant from being a part of the Cowboys offseason workout programs.

Bryant missed a large part of the season after breaking the fifth metetarsal in his right foot during the team's season opening victory over the New York Giants.  With the Cowboys out of playoff contention, the team sat Bryant out of the final two games of the regular season.

Wednesday afternoon, Bryant posted a Tweet to his account after his surgery, joking that he was already up and running again.

Bryant's 2015 season was a disappointment, finishing with only 31 receptions for 401 yards and 3 touchdowns in 9 games played.
