Remember when Vince Young was actually a good NFL QB?

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:17 p.m. ET

By Andy Nesbitt, FOXSports.com Vince Young is back in the NFL, having signed a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers on Monday. Let that sink in for a moment. Vince. Young. Is. Back. The QB, who hasn't had an NFL gig since being dumped by the Bills last summer, has been the butt of many jokes over the years (just search "Vince Young Cheesecake Factory"). But there actually was a time when the No. 3 pick in the 2006 NFL Draft used to have serious game. Need proof? Well let's jump into the YouTube time machine to refresh your memory. Remember when he led the Titans back from a 21-0 fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Giants 24-21 in his rookie year?

Then there was that time a few weeks later when he broke off a 39-yard touchdown run in OT to beat the Texans in Houston. The scamper was so impressive that it didn't sound crazy when CBS announcer Don Criqui exclaimed: "This is the most exciting player in the National Football League."

Then there was that time in 2009 against the Cardinals when he led the Titans on 99-yard drive that culminated with a game-winning TD pass to Kenny Britt with no time left on the clock.

And of course there was that time in college when he capped off his monster night against USC in the Rose Bowl with a 9-yard TD run that gave Texas the national title.

Speaking of Texas, Young's former college coach, Mack Brown, is excited for the QB.
