ST. LOUIS -- Dwayne Evans scored a game-high 17 points -- including a layup off the opening tip -- as St. Louis defeated Division II Rockhurst 68-43 as part of the Jesuit Spotlight on Tuesday night.

In the game-opening flurry, Evans followed his first bucket with another and a pair of free throws as the Billikens (7-2) zoomed ahead 13-0.

Jake Barnett, in his first start since November of 2012, had 12 points on 3 of 5 3-point shooting for the Billikens, and Jordair Jett scored 12 with three steals.

Rockhurst (3-6) hit just 15 of 53 field goals for a cold 28.3 percent and were just 1-for-15 from the 3-point line.

Brandon McCann, on just 3 of 11 shooting, was top scorer for the Hawks with 14 points. Adam Fatkin was next with six points.

McCann and Fatkin scored Rockhurst's last 12 points of the first half to close within 33-22.
