RECAP: Angels fall to Blue Jays
Jose Bautista homered and drove in three runs as the Toronto Blue Jays ended a season-worst five-game losing streak, beating the Los Angeles Angels 10-6 on Monday afternoon.
Bautista and Russell Martin, who had a go-ahead single in the sixth inning, each finished with three hits.
Albert Pujols, David Freese and Chris Iannetta hit solo homers for the Angels, who lost their second straight after winning the previous five.
A crowd of 29,306 watched at the Rogers Centre on Victoria Day, a Canadian holiday since the mid-1800s that celebrates Queen Victoria's birthday.
After Toronto loaded the bases in the sixth against Mike Morin (1-1), Martin's two-run single on a full-count pitch from Vinnie Pestano made it 6-5. Danny Valencia followed with a two-run double.
Roberto Osuna (1-0) worked 1 2-3 innings for his first major league win.
The Angels allowed more runs Monday than they had in their previous six games combined (9).

Los Angeles had not given up more than three runs in any of those six games, but fell behind 4-0 in the second as the Blue Jays got six straight hits against C.J. Wilson.
Ryan Goins, Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion all hit RBI singles and Bautista added an RBI double.
Wilson allowed four runs and a season-worst 10 hits in five innings.
The slumping Blue Jays, whose 4.78 ERA entering play Monday was the worst in the AL, decided to give their starters an extra day of rest. Right-hander Todd Redmond was promoted from Triple-A Buffalo to replace of Aaron Sanchez, while veteran left-hander Jeff Francis was designated for assignment.
Redmond kept the Angels hitless until Pujols hit his seventh homer this season and 527th of his career in the fourth. Kole Calhoun doubled on Redmond's next pitch, went to third on Freese's single and scored on a wild pitch. Freese later scored on Iannetta's double.
Redmond allowed three runs and four hits in four innings.
The Angels took a 5-4 lead with two in the sixth off Ryan Tepera. Freese hit a leadoff homer and Johnny Giavotella added an RBI single.

Angels: Matt Joyce was scratched from the lineup and replaced by Marc Krauss at DH.
Blue Jays: Bautista (right shoulder) made throws up to 40 feet before the game. He has been limited to DH duty since April 21 after straining his shoulder making a throw to first base.
UP NEXT
Angels: LHP Hector Santiago (2-2, 2.41) pitches Tuesday at Toronto. He's coming off his first win in four starts, allowing one run over seven innings in a victory over Colorado. He's allowed one earned run or fewer in four of seven starts this season.
Blue Jays: RHP Aaron Sanchez (3-3, 4.26) allowed a career-worst five runs in a May 13 loss at Baltimore, losing for the first time since April 16.
