Florida's teams are well-represented among the Baseball Writers Association of America Rookie of the Year finalists, as announced Tuesday.

The Tampa Bay Rays have two players nominated for the American League award, outfielder Wil Myers and right-hander Chris Archer, and right-hander Jose Fernandez will represent the Miami Marlins on the National League side.

Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias is the third finalist in the AL. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig and St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Shelby Miller are the other NL finalists.

The award will be announced next Monday.

Myers, 22, is considered a favorite after hitting .293 with 13 homers and 53 RBI in the regular season following his promotion in June. Archer, 25, threw admirably since joining the Rays' staff the same month, going 9-7 with a 3.22 ERA in 23 starts.

Meanwhile, Fernandez, 21, burst onto the scene in South Florida with his flamboyant style. He finished 12-6 with a 2.19 ERA in 28 starts.
