Joe Maddon turned to Jenny for the Tampa Bay Rays' series opener against the Detroit Tigers.
Well, Tommy Tutone's version of "Jenny," at least.
Here is what the team's lineup looked like for Thursday's game:
Jenny, @RaysJoeMaddon's got your number. Tonight's #Rays batting order (by position) starts 867-5309: pic.twitter.com/m87PirbvKM

And Maddon was quick to acknowledge the oddity of the numerical order:
But the lineup didn't give last-place Tampa Bay any luck against Detroit starter Max Scherzer, who has had the Rays' number and two-hit them for eight innings in a 7-1 win.
Could there be any more '80s references coming in the future? Who knows, but might we suggest The Outfield? The jokes basically write themselves.
