Rangers' Kouzmanoff replaces Beltre on DL
Adrian Beltre picked the right day to come off the disabled list for the Texas Rangers.
That's because Beltre's replacement at third base, reigning American League player of the week Kevin Kouzmanoff, took Beltre's DL spot because of a herniated disc in his back.
Kouzmanoff flew back to Dallas Thursday to see back specialist Dr. Drew Dossett, who diagnosed Kouzmanoff with a herniated L5-S1 disc in his lower back.
Kouzmanoff hasn't played since leaving Monday's game against Oakland.
Beltre was back in the Texas lineup for Friday's series opener at Seattle, hitting third for the Rangers. Beltre was hitting .286 with four RBI before going on the DL April 13 with a strained left quad.
Kouzmanoff was hitting .362 with two homers and 10 RBI in 13 games with Texas.
