Raiders sign Ross off Packers’ practice squad

An old friend reached into his past Wednesday to sign Brandian Ross off the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.

Last offseason, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie left Green Bay, where he was the Packers' director of football operations and likely got familiar with Ross when the cornerback spent his first season on the practice squad.

Ross, 22, made Green Bay's 53-man roster out of training camp this season but was sent back to the practice squad when linebacker Erik Walden finished serving his one-game suspension.

The Raiders have been ravaged by injuries in the secondary.
