Rahman, NMSU rally past Louisiana Tech

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Hamidu Rahman scored 20 points to lead New Mexico State to an 83-72 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night.

Trailing by five with under 10 minutes remaining, NMSU (17-7, 6-2 WAC) outscored Louisiana Tech (11-12, 3-5) 19-5 in the last 7:44. Daniel Mullings scored eight straight during that stretch.

Raheem Appleby led the Bulldogs with 30 points, guard Kenyon McNeail scored 17 and guard Cordarius Johnson added 16.

Mullings and Wendell McKines scored 15 apiece for the Aggies, who shot 51.6 percent for the game and outscored Louisiana Tech 46-22 in the paint. Rahman converted 7 of 10 field goals.
