QB Jake Coker waived-injured by Cardinals, 11 others cut
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals have waived/injured quarterback Jake Coker and released 11 players in their first round of roster cuts.
Coker, who directed Alabama to the national college football championship last season, signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie. He sat out Sunday's loss at Houston with a sore knee that, coach Bruce Arians said, may require an arthroscopic procedure.
In addition, cornerback Mike Jenkins was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL.
Those released are tight end Gerald Christian, wide receiver Amir Carlisle, guard Jake Bernstein, tackle Clay DeBord, long snapper Daniel Dillon, defensive tackle Iosia Iosia, cornerback Asa Jackson, wide receiver Franky Okafor, cornerback Sean Prater, punter Garrett Swanson and safety Tyrequek Zimmerman.
The cuts left the Cardinals roster at 77. It must be down to 75 by Tuesday.
