Q&A with the champ: Johnson answers questions from fans (and haters) about the revamped Chase
NASCAR has a new playoff system that will place an emphasis on winning, complete with a winner-take-all finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
As Jimmie Johnson begins his quest for a seventh title, some are wondering if the new format is really a "Jimmie Rule" in disguise? But what does Johnson think? He took to Twitter to answer questions from fans ... and haters too.
It all started with this Tweet from Johnson.
A big day in the world of @nascar, I'm good with change and think this new points system will make for an exciting #Chase. #se7en

Once the responses started coming in, Johnson was ready.
So you're saying it won't be exciting? We need to do what's right for the sport and be sure our sport continues to grow. @jwhollie @NASCAR

In all the #chase finales, a crash would end your championship run. We need excitement in our sport to grow it, this might be it. @butlerb92

In the end, Johnson says it's all about his love for the sport.
I'm defending the sport I love & I wish others would do the same. Change is hard to except but we can't sit still any longer. #WeNeedGrowth
