Putting the Indians weekend performance into perspective
Over the weekend against the Minnesota Twins, the Cleveland Indians scored 34 runs on 47 hits. The Tribe hit .416 as they took two of three from the Minnesota Twins.
Ther 34 runs were the most the Indians put up in a three-game series since 2001, and the most in a three-game series at home in more than century.

Only other time #Indians scored 34+ in a 3-game home series was in 1902, when they put up 38 against Baltimore from Sept. 2-4.

The Indians were absolutely on fire this weekend, striking out only 18 times in 113 at-bats. With 12 walks over the weekend, the Indians struck out only 6 more times than they walked.
The Indians had 11 doubles, one triple and four home runs in the three-game span. By the third inning Saturday, Jose Ramirez was a home run away from the cycle, having already singled, doubled and tripled.
Jerry Sands also hit the Indians first grand slam in a full calendar year.
Newly-acquired outfielder Abraham Almonte and third baseman Chris Johnson also put up spectacular debuts. Saturday, Almonte went 4 for 5 with 2 2 doubles, a home run, three runs and 2 RBI. Sunday, Johnson went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs.
Over the past seven days, the Indians are hitting .315 with a .372 OBP and .498 SLG.
Tuesday the hot-hitting Indians start a three game set with the New York Yankees. The Yankees got swept by the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend, scoring just one run on 14 hits.
