Puig 'fine' after ugly outfield collision during Dodgers-Angels tilt
It was one of those instances of which looked a whole lot worse than it actually was.
Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig collided with second baseman Howie Kendrick in the fifth inning of Thursday night's 3-2 Spring training loss to the Angels at Angel Stadium. Puig was face down on the Angel Stadium turf for several minutes before walking off the field under his own strength.
The training staff looked at Puig's "neck and throat area," before he left the game for what the club called "precautionary reasons." Puig is "fine" and is expected to play Friday night when the series resumes in Anaheim, according to a team spokesman.

When asked if he was experiencing any soreness, Puig replied, "A little, but it's good now."
Puig was in pursuit of a ball hit to shallow right field by Angels outfielder Mike Trout when the injury occurred. Kendrick left the infield to try to make a play while Puig ran downhill looking to do the same. Both players hesitated momentarily before charging the ball once more.
Puig's face apparently met Kendrick's forearm, knocking the Dodgers' outfielder face first onto the Angel Stadium turf.
The ball landed in the outfield as Trout made his way to third base on the play. Puig was replaced in the game by the newly acquired Chris Heisey.
Puig finished the game 0-for-2 with a strikeout before his fifth inning departure.
