Previewing Saturday night's Cavaliers-Kings game ...
THE SKINNY: Kings (1-1) at Cavaliers (1-1), Quicken Loans Arena, 7:30 p.m. FSOhio has the broadcast with Fred McLeod and Campy Russell.
THE STARTERS: With Anderson Varejao (personal) and Mo Williams (groin injury) questionable, we don't know who the Cavaliers will likely go with as their starters. We do know they missed both in Toronto Friday night, when they were routed 101-81. If Varejao and Williams can't go it's Ryan Hollins and J.J. Hickson up front, Jamario Moon at small forward, Anthony Parker at shooting guard and Ramon Sessions at the point. With Samuel Dalembert coming back slowly from a knee injury, the Kings will likely go with highly-touted rookie DeMarcus Cousins at center, Omri Casspi and Carl Landry at forward and Beno Udrih and Tyreke Evans at guard.
Byron Scott has said Williams wants to play, but the Cavaliers head coach wants to make sure he's 100 healed and ready before putting him on the floor.
THE SCOOP: Look for an up-tempo game as Evans is best in the open floor and can be a real load when he goes to the basket. His strength will test the Cavaliers' smaller guards and may require Scott to put Parker or Moon on him. He missed the opener due to suspension and scored 18 in the Kings 106-100 loss in New Jersey last night.
The Kings are young and dangerous but not quite there yet. The Cavaliers looked like they're not quite ready for road wins as Toronto blew them out last night. They'll have to be sharper at both ends after shooting 38 percent and committing 19 turnovers. J.J. Hickson should be fresh as foul trouble limited him to 15 minutes last night.
THE SERIES: The Cavaliers have won eight straight over Sacramento. The teams don't play again until March 16.
KEY NUMBER: 1. That's how many shots Ramon Sessions made in 10 tries last night. Regardless of whether Williams can play, Sessions has been great until last night and the Cavaliers need production from him to play as fast as they'd like.
WHAT'S AHEAD: The Cavaliers host Atlanta Tuesday night before another back-to-back weekender, at Philadelphia and at Washington.
