ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The game between the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays was delayed for 19 minutes because of a problem with the lights at Tropicana Field.

The Orioles were batting in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday night when a series of lights went out.

Both teams left the field to wait out the delay in a game that was tied at 3.

The Rays announced that Duke Energy, which provides electricity to the ballpark, said a nearby transformer was struck by lightning, causing the outage.
