Police investigating homicide at Chiefs-Broncos game
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating a homicide that occurred in the parking lot outside Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday during the Chiefs-Broncos game. Kansas City police chief Daryl Forte tweeted after the game: "Detectives investigating a homicide at Arrowhead Stadium. Two suspects in custody. Will update as info becomes available."
A large section of parking lot A at the Truman Sports Complex was roped off as the investigation continued Sunday night. One security guard inside Arrowhead Stadium said he had heard the homicide occurred prior to Sunday's 3:25 p.m. start, though that has not been confirmed. There also were reports that the homicide victim was killed in a vehicular incident, though Kansas City police have not confirmed that either. There was no word on the fan affiliation of either the victim or the suspects. Chiefs spokesman Ted Crews said the Chiefs were aware of the situation but had no comment at this time. "It is a police matter," Crews said.
