Point guards Brandon Knight, Luke Ridnour doubtful to play Friday
The Milwaukee Bucks are likely to be without point guards Brandon Knight and Luke Ridnour for Friday's game in Boston, as the team is listing both as doubtful.
Knight suffered a right hamstring strain just 1:45 into Wednesday's 90-83 loss in New York and did not return to the game. He was bothered by a sore left hamstring in training camp, but the right hamstring is now the main issue.
Ridnour was a late scratch Wednesday due to back spasms. He went through shootaround and tried to give it a go but couldn't get his back loose.
The veteran returned to Milwaukee on Thursday to have his back examined by doctors. It is not known yet if he will rejoin the team for the game in Boston or stay in Milwaukee. The Bucks play their home opener Saturday against Toronto.
Thrown into the fire, rookie Nate Wolters went from third string to the only true point guard when Knight went down. He played 30 minutes in his NBA debut, scoring nine points with four assists on 3-of-12 shooting.
Wolters will likely start against the Celtics if both Knight and Ridnour are out, with Gary Neal and O.J. Mayo also able to play the position.
