Detroit's Andre Drummond left Saturday's Pistons-Jazz game at halftime after sustaining a concussion.
Drummond was hit in the head by Utah's Rodney Hood midway through the first quarter but stayed in the game, despite obvious discomfort. Drummond struggled for the remainder of the half, finishing with only four points and two rebounds in 11 minutes.
He came out with his teammates for the second-half warmup but ended up sitting on the bench while the team's training staff began concussion testing. He then returned to the locker room as the second half began to undergo more extensive testing.
Midway through the third quarter, the team announced that he did have a concussion and would not return to the game. The Pistons have Monday off after a four-game West Coast trip. They play host Memphis on Tuesday before playing in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Drummond averaged 17.3 points and 21.7 rebounds in the first three games of the road trip, and currently leads the NBA in offensive rebounds. He's second to DeAndre Jordan in total rebounds and sixth in the league in blocked shots.
