(Update: Maguire's parents were able to make it to the game after all, according to ESPN)

Florida State sophomore quarterback Sean Maguire will make his first start for the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium on Sunday and his folks won't be in the stands because they already gave away their tickets, figuring their son would be toting a clipboard.

"My parents originally gave away the tickets to my cousins," Maguire said Thursday night. "They were like, 'You guys go to this game. You'll have fun tailgating. Sean probably won't play this game.'"

Not that there's anything wrong with toting a clipboard.

Clearly Maguire's parents didn't foresee that Jameis Winston might earn a half-game suspension for shouting obscenities on campus on Tuesday. Or that it would be extended to the entire game.

Anyhow, because last-minute travel plans won't work, the Maguire contingent (minus the cousins) will all watch the game together on TV at home in New Jersey, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

To avoid missing future starts by Sean, the Maguires may wish to follow a website that will now track time passed since the latest Winston gaffe.
