Packers' Mike Daniels gives new meaning to 'Family Night'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Mike Daniels wasn't going to miss the Green Bay Packers' family night scrimmage for anything. No, really. Not even the birth of his son would have kept the second-year defensive lineman from stepping onto Lambeau Field in front of 63,047 fans on Saturday night.

Fortunately for Daniels, he didn't have to choose between the two as his fiancee gave birth to their second son early Saturday morning. But Daniels was prepared to choose the football field with his teammates over the hospital room with his fiance.

"I was going to play regardless," Daniels told FOXSportsWisconsin.com. "It's my job. It's my job. I can't just take a day off."

With his infant son -- whom the couple named Kaydence -- waiting at home, Daniels left the locker room after the scrimmage to be with his family. But he'll always remember this night.

"Definitely a new meaning to family night," Daniels said.
