Packers fill six of eight practice squad spots
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Six spots down, two to go. The Green Bay Packers' practice squad started to take shape Monday morning, signing wide receivers Charles Johnson and Myles White, tight end Jake Stoneburner, cornerback James Nixon, quarterback Scott Tolzien and guard Bryan Collins.
That leaves two jobs on the practice squad still open.
Johnson, White, Stoneburner and Nixon were all with the Packers during training camp and preseason.
Tolzien was the starting quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2009 and 2010 and spent his first two NFL seasons as a backup with the San Francisco 49ers.
Collins, measured at 6-foot-3 and 301 pounds, is an undrafted rookie out of Southern Methodist. Collins was with the Houston Texans during preseason.
