Pacers waive three players as regular season draws closer
With the Indiana Pacers' preseason schedule complete, they're now in the process of complying with the NBA's 15-man roster limit in advance of Wednesday's regular season opener against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Pacers announced Saturday that they have waived three players: 6-foot-8 forward DeQuan Jones, 6-foot-5 guard Trey McKinney-Jones and 6-foot-8 forward Ben Moore.
The 27-year-old Jones is a veteran of 63 NBA games, all of which came with the Orlando Magic in 2012-13. He played in all four of the Pacers' preseason games this month, averaging 9.2 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest.
The 22-year-old Moore, an undrafted free agent from SMU, averaged 13.4 minutes, 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds over two preseason contests.
McKinney-Jones, 27, did not see action in any preseason games. He's had three different stints with the Pacers' NBA G League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, since 2013.
