Pac-12 to have tie-in with Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

The Pac-12 and Big 12 conference officially announced on Monday a six-year agreement with the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl beginning after the 2014 regular season.

The Pac-12 will replace the Big Ten in the game formerly known as the Insight Bowl and currently played at Arizona State's Sun Devil Stadium. The conference previously had a tie-in with the game from 2002-05. The Big 12 has had a tie-in with the game since 2006.

The game will match the sixth selection from the Pac-12 against the fifth selection from the Big 12.

"The Pac-12 is pleased to add the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl to the Conference's future lineup of outstanding bowl games," Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said in a statement. "Having another postseason game in our geographic footprint against a quality Big 12 Conference opponent provides Pac-12 fans a great opportunity to follow their team and enjoy the experience in the Valley of the Sun."

The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl deal, which was first reported last month, is the latest bowl
shuffling for the Pac-12, which last month extended agreements with the Holiday Bowl and Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl moved up to the fourth spot in selection order for Pac-12 teams.

Once the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl affiliation takes effect, the selection order for qualified Pac-12 bowl teams will be: (1) Rose Bowl/College Football Playoff, (2) Alamo Bowl, (3) Holiday Bowl, (4) Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, (5) Sun Bowl, (6) Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
