Oshie to IR, two recalled

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has placed forward T.J. Oshie on Injured Reserve. In addition, the Blues recalled goaltender Jake Allen and forward Adam Cracknell from the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen. Allen has been recalled under emergency conditions due to goaltender Jaroslav Halak’s lower body injury, which he suffered during the first period in the Blues’ 4-1 win in Minnesota on Monday night.

Oshie, 26, has dressed in 30 games this season tying for fifth on the club with 20 points including seven goals and 13 assists to go along with 15 penalty minutes.

Allen, 22, has appeared in 12 games with the Blues this season posting an 8-3-0 record including a 2.45 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. In 35 games with the Rivermen, the 6’2, 195-pound goaltender has a record of 13-19-2 including a 2.89 goals against average, .904 save percentage and two shutouts.  The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was drafted by the Blues in the second round (34th overall) of the 2008 Entry Draft.

Cracknell, 27, has dressed in eight games for the Blues this season posting two assists and two penalty minutes.  While with the Rivermen, the 6’2, 210-pound forward has appeared in 49 games ranking third on the club with 33 points including 17 goals and 16 assists to go along with 26 penalty minutes. The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 23, 2009.
