NEW YORK (AP) -- Longtime MLS goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts was the first player taken in the league's expansion draft.

Orlando City SC made the two-time league goalkeeper of the year the first of 10 players added from other teams ahead of its debut in North America's top soccer league next year.

New York City FC took Ned Grabavoy first on Wednesday, reuniting the midfielder with his former coach at Real Salt Lake. Jason Kreis also used the 10th pick on defender Chris Wingert, who played with Grabavoy under Kreis at RSL when it won the 2009 MLS Cup.

The two new teams have already added players through a variety of methods, including free-agent signings. NYC FC signed David Villa and Frank Lampard, while Orlando has built around Brazilian star Kaka.
