Oregon isn't interested in playing in another Rose Bowl

A couple of Oregon Ducks are having some issues understanding the prestige of playing in the Rose Bowl.

In a story on ESPN.com two Oregon players showed their displeasure at the prospect of playing in another Rose Bowl.

Wide receiver Josh Huff is quoted as saying, "I don't want to play in a Rose Bowl unless I'm playing for a national championship."

While running back De'Anthony Thomas had this to say about the Rose Bowl, "It's not a big deal at all. We already won a Rose Bowl, so it feels like, "Whatever""

Wow.

Now, I am all for being disappointed in not making it to a national championship, but if there were ever a worthy consolation prize the Rose Bowl would be it.

I think both of these young Ducks don't quite understand what an honor it is to play in "The Grandaddy of Them All."

The Rose Bowl has always been heralded as the pinnacle of success for both the Pac-12 and Big Ten, and there are eleven other teams in the Pac-12 who would trade places with Oregon in an instant.

You'd think that De'Anthony Thomas would have already learned his lesson when speaking to the media after saying Oregon would put up 40 points on Stanford, and then proceeding to lose to them 26-20.

Then again with the way the BCS Standings stack up right now Oregon would be heading for a meeting with Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, and we all know how that game turned out for the Ducks last time. So, maybe it is a little understandable why they would like to avoid the Rose Bowl this time around.

The Ducks could just take care of their business next time and go undefeated, and then they wouldn't have to play in that dreaded Rose Bowl.

But, I guess it's not hard to go 22-0?
