Oklahoma LB Striker ready to face Vols RBs

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 9:25 p.m. ET

Eric Striker said he was aware of Jalen Hurd.

That much the Oklahoma linebacker admitted after practice earlier this week. But it's possible Striker isn't giving Hurd and his teammate, running back Alvin Kamara enough credit.

Both Hurd and Kamara ran for more than 120 yards last week in Tennessee's victory last week against Bowling Green.

Hurd had 123 yards and three scores. Kamara had 144 yards on just 15 carries, scoring two touchdowns.

"He's just a running back, just like any running back," Striker said earlier this week. "He can get tackled. I don't think nothing special about him."

However, Oklahoma linebacker Jordan Evans was a bit more complimentary.

"They both pose different challenges," Evans told The Oklahoman of the two Tennessee running backs. "We'll just prepare the same as we do every week and hopefully go out there and contain them."
