Ohio State to honor local sports anchor's daughter
The Ohio State football team will pay tribute to the daughter of a local sports anchor, who tragically died in a car accident earlier this week.
Maria Tiberi, the 21-year-old daughter of WBNS-TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi, was killed on Tuesday night after her car struck a tractor-trailer on I-270 in Hilliard, Ohio.
In a very classy gesture by Ohio State, the football team will honor Maria on Saturday by wearing a sticker with the initials M-T and a small buckeye on each player's helmet.
Maria was a graduate of Dublin Coffman High School and a student at Ohio State University. Her father Dom has worked for WBNS-TV since 1981 and is most noted for his coverage of Ohio State University sports.
