Ohio State announces potential public ticket sale procedure

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:19 p.m. ET

Ohio State may or may not hold a public sale for tickets to the first College Football Playoff, but the school announced Sunday where it will take place online just in case.

If any of the school's approximate total of 20,000 tickets are still available after orders from donor groups, season-ticket holders, Varsity O Football members, faculty, staff and students are filled, a public sale will be held. Priority for those groups is set to conclude at 9 a.m. Monday.

Fans who want to be part of the public sale are encouraged to submit a request on the athletics department's website by clicking here.

The Buckeyes will face Oregon in the first College Football Playoff Championship Game on Jan. 12 in Arlington, Texas.
