Oakland routs Centenary 98-71

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) -- Keith Benson scored a season-high 28 points to lead six Oakland (Mich.) players in double figures as the Golden Grizzlies cruised to a 98-71 victory over winless Centenary on Tuesday night.

Benson was 9 of 11 from the field and 9 of 13 from the free-throw line for Oakland (8-8, 3-0 Summit League).

The Golden Grizzlies led 51-39 at halftime, then shot 69.2 percent in the second half (18 of 26) to increase the margin to as many as 30 points over the Gentlemen (0-14, 0-3).

Centenary's only lead was 1-0 on an Andrew Rebol free throw 40 seconds into the game.

Ilija Milutinovic added 12 points for Oakland, Larry Wright had 11 and Drew Valentine, Travis Bader and Ledrick Eackles chipped in 10 each.

Maxx Nakwassah had 16 points and Jonathan Blount added 13 for the Gentlemen, who shot 36.5 percent from the field for the game (23 of 63) and were outrebounded 42-31.
