NZ bats dominate in first session
BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe (AP) New Zealand openers Martin Guptil and Tom Latham put the tourists on top early in the second Test against Zimbabwe, reaching 101 without loss at lunch on the first day.
After New Zealand won the toss, Guptil was not out on 49 while Latham was unbeaten on 42 after 28 overs on a Queens Sports Club wicket good for batting.
Zimbabwe's bowlers toiled on a flat deck which offered little pace, as Guptil and Latham took full advantage with a wide range of shots around the ground.
New Zealand is looking to seal the series after winning the first game by an innings and 117 runs at the same venue.
Zimbabwe, missing senior batsman Hamilton Masakadza through back strain, gave a Test debut to wicketkeeper Peter Moor. New Zealand were unchanged.
