SYDNEY (AP) Defending champions North Queensland clinched a top-four spot in the National Rugby League on Saturday with a 32-16 win over the Gold Coast Titans.

Later Saturday, first-place Melbourne was scheduled to play second-place Cronulla, with the Sharks trailing by a point and needing a win to overtake the Storm for top spot.

Elsewhere, playoff-bound Canterbury lost for the third consecutive time heading into the finals, dropping a 28-10 decision to South Sydney. The 11th-place Rabbitohs finished a disappointing season with four wins in a row.

Fifth-place Brisbane overcame an early 14-0 deficit to beat the Sydney Roosters 24-14 and secure captain Corey Parker a victory in his 154th and final regular-season match.
