CLEVELAND -- Wednesday's 11-10 win in 13 innings by the Indians over the Tigers will go down as one of the crazier games at Progressive Field. According to STATS LLC, it is the first walk-off balk since July 4, 2011, when Kansas City's Aaron Crow did it against the White Sox. It is the first one in extra innings since June 16, 2011, when the Braves beat the Mets in the 11th on a balk by D.J. Carrasco.
Here are some of the wilder numbers:
1 -- Times in his career that Brad Ausmus has been ejected as a manager. It happened in this game for arguing balls and strikes.
2 -- Hits by David Murphy, including a two-run homer in the ninth to send the game into extra innings. It is Murphy's fifth homer of the season.
3 -- Times the Indians have had a walk-off win this season. Two happened in this series including Brantley's home run in the ninth on Monday.
4 -- Earned runs allowed by Zach McAllister in two-plus innings. He allowed five total. Going back to the fourth inning of the Tampa Bay game on May 10, the right-hander has allowed 17 runs (16 earned) in 4 1/3 innings along with 16 hits for an ERA of 30.84.
5:16 -- As in five hours, 16 minutes, which was the time it took to play the game. It marked the longest game at Progressive Field since Aug. 30, 2008, which was a 14-12 loss to the Tigers in 5:33
6 -- Times that Miguel Cabrera has been ejected in his career. He was tossed in the sixth inning by home-plate umpire Tim Timmons for arguing a called strike thrown by Carlos Carrasco. It is Cabrera's fifth ejection since 2011.
7 -- Innings pitched by Max Scherzer, which is a bit surprising considering he gave up 12 hits and seven runs. Scherzer allowed six runs the first two innings on 54 pitches before settling down.
9 -- Pitchers used by the Indians, including Josh Tomlin, who was supposed to be the starter on Thursday night at Baltimore. Tomlin ended up going four innings and allowing two hits, including Alex Avila's solo shot in the 13th, but he also struck out six and walked one. The nine pitchers was one shy of the club record of 10 on Sept. 18, 2012, against Minnesota.
11 -- Straight games Detroit had won on the road before this series started. The Tigers now have their first three-game losing streak of the season.
15-11 -- The Indians home record, which is second-best in the American League.
18 -- Game home hitting streak for Michael Brantley, who was 4 for 7 with three RBI. He is tied with Robbie Alomar (2000) and Kenny Lofton (1996) for the longest hit streak by an Indians player at Progressive Field. Brantley is also the sixth Indians player dating back to 1914 to have four hits, three RBI and two stolen bases in the same game.
23 -- Walk-off wins by the Indians against the Tigers, which is the most they have against any team.
24 -- Runners left on base by both teams. The Tigers stranded 14 to the Indians' 10.
26 -- Years since a game has ended in extra innings due to a balk. Before Thursday, the last time it happened was on July 10, 1986, when Todd Fischer
38 -- Players used by both teams. Cleveland used its entire bench while Detroit still had Andrew Romine available.
47 -- Career home runs by Victor Martinez at Progressive Field, which is seventh all-time at the park. He had a solo shot in the third to bring Detroit within 6-5.
