Northern Arizona Suns invite 15 players to training camp

PRESCOTT VALLEY -- The Northern Arizona Suns announced their 15-man training camp roster following the 2016 NBA Development League Draft. The NAZ Suns welcome back five returning players, two affiliate players, four draft picks and four local tryout players.

The NAZ Suns drafted guard Michael Bryson in the first round (eighth overall), guard Mikh McKinney (25th) and forward Greg Mays (30th) in the second round and center Ralph Sampson III (86th) in the fifth.

Bryson averaged 18.0 points per game last season for UC-Stanta Barbara. McKinney played overseas for the Port of Antwerp Giants, and Mays for the Albury Wodonga Bandits. Sampson averaged 4.0 points per game last season for the D-League Maine Red Claws.

Gracin Bakumanya and Shaquille Harrison are attending training camp as affiliate players following their participation in the Phoenix Suns training camp in September. Bakumanya, a 6-foot 11-inch, 220-pound center is a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and played the 2015-16 season in France. Harrison averaged 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last season for the University of Tulsa.

Returning from last season's Bakersfield Jam roster are guards Bo Barnes, Askia Booker, Elijah Millsap and Xavier Silas and forward Derek Cooke Jr. Silas averaged 18.5 points and Booker averaged 12.7 points for the Jam last season.

The NAZ Suns also invited four participants from their local tryouts:  Daniel Alexander, a forward for Grand Canyon University; Chandler native Asaad Woods, a guard from Limestone College; former LSU guard Josh Gray; and former Oregon State guard Langston Morris-Walker.
