No Such Word wins Monmouth Oaks

No Such Word took the lead near the top of the stretch and drew off to win the $200,000 Monmouth Oaks on Saturday, beating Seeking the Title by 1 1/2 lengths.

Ridden by Terry Thompson and trained by Cindy Jones, the 3-year-old filly covered the 1 1-16 miles over a fast track at Monmouth Park in 1:45 and returned $4.40, $2.60 and $2.10. The Grade 3 stakes win was the fifth career victory for No Such Word, who has earned $383,213.

Seeking the Title paid $2.60 and $2.20, while C C's Pal was eight lengths back in third and paid $3.40 to show.

In the co-feature, Rustler Hustler overtook The Flying Whizzer and Pluck in the closing strides to win by a neck in the $100,000 Continental Mile Stakes.

Trained by Timothy Hamm and ridden by Pablo Morales, the 2-year-old colt covered the firm turf course in 1:35 1-5 and paid $29.60, $13 and $8.20. It was the second win in four career starts for Rustler Hustler.

The Flying Whizzer and Pluck finished in a dead heat for second, but the latter was disqualified by the stewards and placed fourth for interference with Powhatan County in the stretch. The Flying Whizzer paid $36.40 and $12.60, while Powhatan County - who finished fourth but was moved up by the stewards to third - returned $3.
