No. 5 Michigan signs 3 recruits
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan has signed guards Derrick Walton Jr. and Zak Irvin and forward Mark Donnal to letters of intent.
The fifth-ranked Wolverines announced the signings for 2013-14 on Friday.
Michigan loses five seniors from its current roster, and sophomore point guard Trey Burke is a candidate to turn pro after strongly considering it following last season.
The 6-foot-9 Donnal averaged 19.6 points and 9.2 rebounds as a junior at Anthony Wayne High School in Ohio. The 6-foot-6 Irvin averaged 18.8 points and 6.2 rebounds as a junior for Hamilton Southeastern in Indiana.
Walton, of Harper Woods, Mich., has been a standout at Chandler Park Academy. The 6-foot guard averaged 26.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists to earn 2012 Class B All-State first team honors from The Associated Press.
