No. 2 reason to get excited: St. John Bosco retains Chad Johnson
Chad Johnson had a great 2013.
The St. John Bosco offensive coordinator helped guide the football team to a state championship and a mythical national title.
In the winter, he won another state title as an assistant for the Braves boys basketball team.
He's a winner.
On a team that brings back the likes of Josh Rosen and Sean McGrew from last season's championship team, it's Johnson who may be the Braves key returner, which is No. 2 on our list of top "15 Reasons to Get Excited for the 2014 CIF-SS High School Football Season."
Johnson spent seven years at Trabuco Hills with head coach Jason Negro before joining him with the Braves. As far as development goes, he's been a key component in developing Josh Rosen into, arguably, the top quarterback in the nation.
In the offseason Johnson was a hot name for area head coaching vacancies. He's still at Bosco.
For now.
