Nikola Vucevic named Eastern Conference Player of the Week
Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Vucevic averaged 22.7 points and 14.3 rebounds as the Magic defeated the Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats and overcame a 21-point deficit against the Toronto Raptors before losing 98-93. His 23 rebounds against the Bobcats were a season high for him and only three shy of the NBA high this season.
It's the first time since Dwight Howard in January 2012 that a Magic player has received the honor. Jameer Nelson (January 2009) was the team's last player other than Howard to earn the award.
Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
The Magic's next game is Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
