Nick Diaz looking for thieves who stole his expensive road bike
Nick Diaz is on the look-out for a thief he says stole a rather expensive road bike that he purchased.
Diaz posted a picture of the stolen bike on his Instagram account a few days ago and then recently talked about the incident while appearing on Chael Sonnen's podcast.
According to Diaz, he's not sure exactly when it was taken, but he knows he's out a lot of money for a bike he used to compete in triathlons.
"I did, it was actually a little while ago I was out of town. I might have actually been in town; it could have been sort of an inside job. In between these fights, I always have all sorts of different crazy stuff going on," Diaz said about the stolen bike.
"It's a really high-end specialized S-Works. I did a couple races on it. I use another bike for most of my training. So that thing's gone; I had to kiss that thing goodbye. I thought it was like hiding under the couch or something, but somebody got smart and snatched that thing up and probably put it on eBay for probably a quarter of what it's worth. It sucks."
Diaz has done triathlons for several years, and it's become one of his biggest passions outside the Octagon.
In addition to the $50,000 bike that was stolen, Diaz says he's spent a ton of money on other triathlon cycles as well over the years.
"I bought about four, maybe five $7,000 to $10,000 bikes. Some people buy nice cars. I bought a bunch of bikes," Diaz said.
Diaz says one of those expensive bikes actually got lost in transport when it wasn't tied down properly on a truck and fell onto the highway.
It's unclear based on the photo he posted and his appearance on the podcast whether or not Diaz actually filed a police report or if he plans on handing down his own special brand of justice if he ever finds the perpetrators.
Considering one of the hash tags on his photo said he owns swords, Diaz might be capable of anything.
