WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) New Zealand has named untested batsman Henry Nicholls and three spinners in its 15-man squad for next month's World Twenty20 tournament in India.

Nicholls has played six one-day internationals since his debut against Sri Lanka earlier this summer but is yet to play a Twenty20 match at international level. He earns his call-up partly as backup to wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi.

Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi and all-rounders Mitchell Santner and Nathan McCullum fill the frontline spin bowling roles in the squad with support from Grant Elliott and Colin Munro. McCullum has been impeded by injuries since his most recent Twenty20 international in South Africa in August.

The squad includes four specialist fast bowlers: Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Adam Milne and Mitch McClenaghan along with allrounder Corey Anderson.
