NFL player's father dies in car accident on way to game
By Sam Gardner, FOXSports.com Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Dan Williams is not playing in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints after his father died in a car accident while en route to see his son play. The Associated Press reports that Thomas Williams, of Memphis, Tenn., and Dan Williams’ mother and sister were all in the car, which crashed near Jackson, Miss. The family was traveling from Williams’ hometown of Memphis to New Orleans for the game at the Superdome. Williams did not travel with the team on Saturday, and on Sunday, the Cardinals sent out their condolences:

According to the AP, Williams’ mother and sister are expected to recover from their injuries.
