Fantasy picks for week 3 of the NFL season.

QB

Marcus Mariota($5,900) is my first NFL fantasy quarterback pick this week. Mariota is one of the lower priced quarterbacks who has a lot of upside. He is also facing an Oakland defense that is giving up 404 passing yards per game so far this season the worst in the NFL. Mariota threw for 238 yards and 2 scores last week ina victory over Detroit and I look for him to have an even bigger day

this week. Mariota can always break off a long run as well as he had an 80+ yard touchdown last season.

My second pick at quarterback this week is Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles($6,500). Bortles faces a Baltimore pass defense that has been stout so far this season allowing a total of 337 yards through the air through the first two weeks of the season.

However, the Ravens have only seen 55 pass attempts so far this season and Bortles could double that this week. I think the Jacksonville offense will finally get going this week and notch their first win against Baltimore.

RB

Melvin Gordon($5,800) is my first pick at running back this week although I think he will be highly owned. Gordon is coming into his own in his second season in the NFL and with Danny Woodhead out, Gordon will get his first test as a full time back. Gordon has already put up a multi score game

in week one against the Chiefs. In that week one game Woodhead had two more carries than Gordon and will likely be shifted to Gordon this week.

My second play at running back this week is Cowboys rookie back Ezekiel Elliot($6,900). Elliot hasn’t really had a huge performance yet in his first two games, but he has scored a touchdown in each of his first two games.

Elliot will be going up against a Bears defense that ranks 21st in the league in rushing yards per game, giving up an average of 114 yards. I look for Zeke to get the first 100 yard game of his career in the night game.

WR

More from Scarlet and Game

The first wide receiver I like this week is Jarvis Landry($6,600). Landry has gotten at least 10 targets in each of the Dolphins first two games this year and last week caught 10 passes for 135 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown but is facing a Cleveland defense that is giving up over 280 yards per game so far this season, and could possibly be without Joe Haden.

I expect Landry to have another 100 yard game and reach the endzone for the first time this season.

Allen Robinson($7,500) is the second receiver I like this week. As stated in the quarterback section with Bortles. the Jags are facing a relatively untested Ravens pass defense, as well as looking for their first win.

I will be stacking Robinson with Bortles and looking for a lot of targets and hopefully a big play or two.
