The sports world has always been a great place to find military tributes, but perhaps no one has done it better than the seniors on the Naval Academy swim team, who photographed an underwater re-creation of the Iwo Jima flag raising and posted it to Twitter on Wednesday:
Navy Men's Swimming & Diving 2013-2014 Firstie photo. Well done! @NavyMSwim @NavyAthletics pic.twitter.com/9KthASACmX

The photo was a unique nod to past members of the armed forces by future members of the armed forces, and — not that anyone ever roots against the Naval Academy — you can’t help but want to pull for these seniors (called Firsties, short for First Class Midshipmen) when they open their season against George Mason and Loyola next Thursday.
